The church of St. Peter & St. Paul has a good and thriving Congregation. But what goes on behind the scenes in order that they and all the visitors to the church always see it at its best?

We have various teams working on a constant rota basis. It works week by week and covers all aspects of the smooth running of the church.

At all services people are greeted and welcomed as they come through the door.

A team work hard to ensure we always come into a clean church. You would be amazed at the number of sweet wrappings, crayons and pencils that come to light underneath pews!

The brasses are always sparkling and again, kept pristine by a dedicated team.

We had one lady working, until very recently on her own arranging flowers week by week and on all special occasions, she had been carrying this out since approximately 1975 but she had reached that time when she felt she needed to put the oasis and pruners to rest and hand over to someone else. We now have yet another team taking on this responsibility, and as this is penned, flowers have been arranged for Harvest Festival. To see the flowers in all their autumnal glory is a vision to behold.

After all this effort or at the end of the service, there is always a fresh cup of tea or coffee and a good chat to be had.

So if you visit the church of St. Peter & St. Paul, pause and reflect on the effort of everyone who works behind the scenes to make it a pleasure for the rest of us to visit and worship.
