The Anglican

There is an enthusiastic choir of adults and children at St. Peter & St. Paul’s Church and members enjoy learning to sing a variety of church music in a friendly, fun and hard working environment. The choir sings at the 10.30 Parish Communion service each Sunday (except the first Sunday of every month) and also sings at weddings and other special services throughout the year.

The choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and follows their “Voice for Life” training scheme which provides a framework for singers to develop their vocal skills, their musical understanding and their knowledge of the Christian faith. The different levels in the Voice for Life scheme provide training for beginners through to advanced singers and medals and coloured ribbons are awarded as each level is achieved.

JOINING THE THE CHOIR

Being a member of the Church Choir is not just about singing in church on Sundays, although this is a very important aspect of choir life.  There are also opportunities to join in other events within the local area and the diocese.

What does being in our church choir involve?

Who sings in the choir?

What does the choir sing?

Do I need to read music?

How do I find out more?

Our weekly practices continue to be held on Friday evenings from 7.15pm  until 8.30pm.  Children (aged 7 and over) and adults are welcome to join us at any of these practices.

Please do come along.
