Anytime from the age of 13 years to 113 years old is an opportunity to confess with your own lips what you believe. For many this will happen when young but it is quite normal for adults to present themselves for Confirmation.

Confirmation is an important step of commitment in the Christian journey and a time when the confirming Holy Spirit of God is realised afresh.

If you would like to consider being confirmed it is not necessary to already be baptised. This can happen at the same time as Confirmation. It can also happen before Confirmation for older children and adults.

Preparation for Confirmation takes place within the context of a course over a number of weeks and there is also a version suited to teenagers.

This parish uses the Emmaus course and covers then following topics:-

Topic: What Christians believe

1.  Knowing God I - is there anyone out there?

2.  Knowing God 2 - your secret life with God

3.  Jesus - his life and ministry

4.  Jesus - his death and resurrection

5.  The Holy Spirit - our life and breath

Topic: How Christians grow

6.  Becoming a Christian - stand up and be counted

7.  Prayer - one to one with God

8.  The Bible - the world's bestseller

9.  The Church - what a great body!

10. Holy Communion - the bread of life

Topic:  Living the Christian life

11.  Your kingdom come - God's priorities for the world

12.  All you need is love – relationships

13.  Living it and giving it I - your money and your life

14.  Living it and giving it 2 - sharing faith
