Our Church Groups

Behind the scenes

The church of St. Peter & St. Paul has a good and thriving Congregation. But what goes on behind the scenes in order that they and all the visitors to the church always see it at its best?

Bell Ringers

There are six bells hung in the tower of St Peter & St Paul's church. The bells are in regular use, being rung for Sunday Service every week, for weddings and on Friday for practice.

Sunday School (Children's Church)

We all want the very best for our children.  It is important to us that they have the opportunity to grow, develop and achieve their full potential.  The most important thing that you can give your child is the opportunity to learn about God and his love for them.

Children & Holy Communion

Following appropriate preparation children may be admitted to Holy Communion before their Confirmation

Christian education

Each year we run our own courses or join in with Christians from other churches.

Church Choir

The Choir leads the singing in worship every Sunday and also at weddings and blessings.

Churchyard Team

Well over 100 species of wildflowers have been recorded in the churchyard, not including trees and grasses. The churchyard is also the first in Bedfordshire in which 100 species of lichens have been recorded (this includes some species found across the road in the cemetery) and also has the highest number of mosses and liverworts (40) recorded for a Bedfordshire churchyard.

Confirmation

From the age of 13 years and right through adults, Christians are encouraged to make a personal commitment to their faith in Christ and to realise afresh the strengthening of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

Flower Arranging

To see the flowers in all their glory is a vision to behold.

Healing Prayer Team

Every Sunday (except the first in the month) a member of the small Healing Team is available after the 10.30am service.

Hiring of church halls

We have two halls which may be available for hiring. One is attached to the Parish church (Chapter House) and the other is St Andrew's church, Windmill Road.

Little Fishes

A group for mothers and toddlers meets on Monday mornings in the Chapter House.

Mother's Union

The Mothers Union is concerned with all that strengthens marriage and Christian family life.

Music Group

The music group leads the Together in Worship services at the beginning of each month.

Parochial Church Council

The Parochial Church Council has the responsibility of co-operating with the Incumbent, the Revd Michael Bradley, in promoting in the ecclesiastical parish the whole mission of the Church.

Safeguarding children

We take the care and support of children and vulnerable adults very seriously. Use this link to see a summary of our policy.

The Friends of Flitwick Church

Was set up in 1991 and devote much time and effort to raising funds for the various requirements of the church.

Youth Group

Our youth group for young people between the ages of 9 years and 14 years meets from time to time
